Sculling
Twickenham RC is an ideal location for sculling – the river stretch is approximately 5km from Teddington to Richmond, and is wide, uncrowded and extremely beautiful.
There are over 40 private single sculls at the club, as well as an increasing number of decent club singles, plus club doubles and quads available for crew sculling. A number of racks are still available for new members with their own boats who may wish to join.
The club runs a 10km timed handicap sculling event every weekend during the winter months, and has an enthusiastic set of single scullers going out on a regular basis all year round. The club has a number of competitive scullers as well as a large group of recent Dads and Mums who can no longer commit to squad training. Some people take part in the local winter sculling heads, and there is always an abundance of entries for Novice singles and Veteran novice singles at Twickenham Regatta.
Anybody who wishes to come and have a look, or park their boat here for the weekend should contact Doug Davidson, the Twickenham Sculling Rack Coordinator at dsandjdavidson@aol.com
