TWICKENHAM ROWING CLUB

Juniors: Learn-to-Row 26-29 July

Monday 26th to Thursday 29th July 2010

Twickenham Rowing Club is running a Learn-to-Row course for children in school years 7-11.

The course starts on Monday afternoon at the Clubhouse with an introduction to the club, followed by capsize training and a swimming test at Hampton Open Air Pool on Monday evening 9pm-11pm (it’s impossible to book the swimming pool earlier in the summer!). From Tuesday to Thursday everyone will learn how to row, starting on rowing machines and quickly moving into boats. Sessions start at 10.30am and finish at 2.30pm with a one hour lunch break.

Rowing is an excellent form of exercise; it’s good for your health and is great fun too. When you have completed the course, you’ll be able to join the club’s Beginners and Intermediates squad and compete for the club at local and national races, or just enjoy improving your rowing skills while having fun with new friends.

The course costs £80 and includes the swimming test and capsize course at Hampton Open Air Pool, plus all coaching at the club.

To reserve a place on the course please complete an application form and return it, with a cheque for £80 made payable to “Twickenham Rowing Club”, to: David Stanley, 41 Court Way, Twickenham TW2 7SA.

If you have any questions, or would like to arrange a time to look around the club, please contact David Stanley.

Twickenham Rowing Club is committed to ensuring that everyone has an equal opportunity to participate in the sport of rowing at all levels and in all roles.

Twickenham Rowing Club is a member of British Rowing and is a Clubmark accredited club.

All of our junior coaches are fully qualified and CRB checked.
