Senior Women’s start of season meeting has now been confirmed as Thursday 16th Sept at 7.30pm in the Club Bar.

Sunday 20th September saw five intrepid adventurers from TwRC brave ‘THE NORTH’ (technically the east midlands, but it’s all the same to Southerners) to take part in the Boston Marathon.

Crews from Twickenham RC were out in force producing promising results in the Henley regattas over the past month.

Last weekend saw the 21st Henley Women’s Regatta and Twickenham had 20 members competing, which says a lot about the current health of the club. Special thanks to the large number of club coaches who have contributed to getting them there.

The Twickenham women’s first eight overcame tough opposition in the straight IM3 final against Imperial College of Medicine and Thames at Chiswick Amateur Regatta held on Saturday 2nd May.
Twickenham started on the Surrey bank and soon left Thames for dust leaving a tough tussle between themselves and the Medics.

Sunday 22nd February saw both women’s crews from Twickenham enter the Hammersmith Women & Juniors Head; a warm-up to the Women’s Eights Head of the River a fortnight later. Both crews had been de-camped at Thames Trademan RC on the Tideway for some vigorous training (initiation also for the B crew!) for the two weeks prior to the event.

Twickenham had two crews entered in this year’s Pairs’ Head.

Christine Palmer and Gemma Taylor raced Women’s Senior 3 pairs finishing a very respectable 5th from 13 crews. Spike and Robert Bailey won the Vet E 2x category and Robert provides a race report below:
