Winning Novice 4+ at Putney Town Regatta

Novice 4+ winning their final against Thames RC

The Group 3 men picked up their first victory of the regatta season by winning the Novice 4+ event at Putney Town Regatta on Saturday 15th May.

The four defeated Auriol Kensington in the semi-final to set up a final against local club Thames RC.

The final got underway and Twickenham had a slight advantage as the crews passed Craven Cottage. They increased the lead to about half a length as the crews passed the Black Buoy but it was going to be a nail-biting finish for coach Alex Hatwell. Thames put in a big push and were gaining with every stroke but Twickenham held on to win by a canvas.

Well done to the crew for a great win and some excellent coxing from Kate in tricky conditions.
