Henley Royal Regatta 2008

6th July 2008

27th June & 2nd – 6th July 2008
Twickenham RC at Henley Royal

Building on the success of last season the senior men’s squad entered two crews into Henley Royal Regatta – the first entry into the Wyfold for a number of years, along with a coxed four into the Britannia.

The success of the top boat throughout the season, competing and winning regattas at Senior 2, resulted in the coxless four being selected for pre-qualification for the Wyfold, so we saw the blue and magenta of Twickenham at HRR for the second year in succession.

Update

The Wyfold four drew Grosvenor, one of the event’s selected crews, in the first round and approached the race with professionalism and determination. In spite of Twickenham’s quick start, Grosvenor pulled away, but Twickenham kept the winning margin down to four lengths.

Twickenham’s Britannia 4+ rowed the race of their season at the Henley qualification race on Friday evening, but didn’t quite earn the right to race on Wednesday.
