Two TwRC Vet Crews entered this event, a Vet E double of Spike Pullen and Robert Bailey and a Vet F quad of John Sewell, Bob Hurles, Keith Baldwin and Dennis Kenny. Each crew was entered in Divisions 2 and 3, and there was precious little recovery time between the divisions! Both crews posted excellent times for Div 2 and similarly close times for Div 3.

These are the corrected best times for the 1900m course – double 6.38.2, quad 6.42.6, which placed the double in 20th position and the quad in 23rd position, from a total of some 390 crews. So what matters in these things is being fast and being a vet in an ‘elevated category’. At the prize giving each crew was awarded a ‘gold’ medal. The event ran very smoothly, being a bit line a production line. It allowed crews to mix and match and to get excellent near side by side racing when the river was ‘red flagged’.
